Therefore, today I will share with you the differences between these three types of protective insoles to help you understand them better.

Difference

1.Insulated insoles: Insulated insoles undergo insulation treatment on the soles to block the dangerous electric current passing through the body when subjected to specified AC or DC voltages. This ensures that the leakage current passing through the human body does not exceed the body’s tolerance range, protecting workers from electric shock injuries and ensuring work safety. According to the GB21148-2020 standard, electrically insulated insoles should not use metal components and fittings, and the sole should not have upper and lower stitching lines. Therefore, insulated insoles with steel toe caps, steel midsoles, and metal buckles no longer meet the requirements of the new standard.ESD Insoles

2. Anti-Static insoles: Anti-static insoles incorporate anti-static materials into the soles, such as anti-static fabrics and conductive wire, allowing static charges on the body to be grounded through the ground’s conductive plate and grounding wire in the work area. The resistance value of anti-static safety insoles is low, ranging from 0.1 to 1000 megaohms (MΩ). These insoles can conduct static charges to the ground, preventing their accumulation in the body and avoiding instantaneous currents generated by contact with charged objects. Anti-static insoles are suitable for pharmaceutical plants, food factories, electronics factories, clean rooms, laboratories, etc.

3.ESD insoles: ESD insoles, like anti-static insoles, protect electrical equipment by grounding charges to prevent static shocks, discharges, or sparks. The difference lies in the lower resistance value of ESD insoles, ranging from 0.1 to 100 megaohms (MΩ). ESD insoles are used in various industries to prevent static discharges in sensitive equipment or devices, such as industrial equipment manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, electrical engineering, communication equipment manufacturing, medical industries, and other precision-sensitive environments.
